Registrants are encouraged to bring minimal belongings with them as you will not be able to carry anything during the OR tour. If you cannot attend one of our specified times, no problem! You can still contact one of our recruiters to schedule a meeting. Also, please note that prior to hire, candidates will be required to complete a drug test/criminal background check to qualify for a position.

Please Note: OR scrubs will be supplied to you, as they are required to be worn during the walkthrough. You’ll also receive a free t-shirt for coming by! You will be prompted to select a size for your apparel upon registering.

We’re hiring for the following positions:

Trainee: In training to learn the skills required to function independently as a PST Level I.

Level I: Performs assigned patient care duties as well as a variety of environmental and material management functions which support patient care activities in the intraoperative period. After demonstrating successful, independent execution of duties for ≥ 1 year, a Level I PST is eligible to be considered for advancement to Level II.

Level II: Assists OR teams by working within the sterile environment, providing emotional support to patients and families in the intraoperative phase of care, performing point of care testing, and supporting procedural areas outside the Main Operating Room. After demonstrating successful, independent execution of duties for ≥ 1 year, a Level II PST is eligible to be considered for advancement to Level III.

Level III: Works proactively with assigned service staff to: assess daily and special needs to include laser or cell saver as defined by service specialty use; anticipate and intervene to mitigate equipment shortages, absences, and malfunctions; lead room set-up; and serve as an intra-case resource for room staff. Only Level III PSTs may be considered for the Baylor and off shift positions or promotion to Team Leader.

Compensation is based off of experience level. Entry level positions start at $12.46/hour.

Performs proper cleaning and disinfecting of all instrumentation and equipment for use in the Operating Rooms and Clinics. Sterile Reprocessing Techs adhere to established guidelines and practices to insure proper safety procedures throughout the reprocessing of instruments to protect patient safety. Conducts quality control checks on instrumentation for function, defects, breakage and overall general condition to insure instruments are in proper working order to support the needs of our surgeons

Assembles instrument kits and packages per content sheet instructions in preparation for surgical use. Work with Team Leaders to communicate concerns regarding instrumentation. Sterile Reprocessing Techs work across multiple functional areas within the department to insure the proper flow of work. These areas include; Decontam, Prep and Pack, Sterilization and Case Picking for the OR.

Compensation is based off of experience level. Entry level positions start at $13.33/hour.

Surgical Supply Technicians are responsible for providing disposable surgical supplies to the OR Team by picking items for scheduled surgical cases, stocking emergency supplies, and par level purchase ordering. The Technician must also efficiently re-stock items not used in surgical procedures.

Surgical Supply Technicians use software to manage inventory levels. The Technicians manage inventory flows through the appropriate storage locations to insure all areas are appropriately stocked. Maintaining accurate inventory levels is critical for patient care and to insure the operating rooms function safely and efficiently.
